CERTIFICATION

 

Dolly Kelepecz has been a professional dancer for over thirty years. She danced with Los Angeles Ballet, Nevada Dance Theatre, Zurich Opera Ballet, Houston Ballet, Circus Knie and was the lead singer and dancer at the famed Lido Show at the Stardust Hotel in Las Vegas. Dolly also founded her own dance company the Opus Dance Ensemble. She is currently a part time faculty member with the U.N.L.V. Dance Department where she teaches both Ballet and Pilates. The U.N.L.V. Dance Department has included Dolly's Pilates classes as part of the curriculum required for dance majors to graduate. In 2008 she was recognized as the Part-Time Instructor of the Year.

Dolly is a certified Pilates instructor and owner of Pilates By Dolly Studios. She received her Pilates certification in 1987 from Eve Gentry and Elizabeth Larkin in San Francisco. California. After returning from San Francisco Dolly opened Las Vegas's FIRST Pilates studio. Now 25 years later, she has multiple studios locally, throughout the U.S. and Internationally. Dolly has also expanded her business and opened studios in Japan. Korea and Mexico. She has worked with celebrities, professional athletes, dancers and personal clients.

She also developed an At Risk Youth Program with Nevada Dance Theater to inspire at risk children. She has published Pilates books in Japanese and Korean and also has her own Video/DVD's. Dolly has appeared on her own Pilates fitness programs airing five days a week on her own television show called Healthy Lifestyles to promote health and wellness. In 1997. she trademarked her own method of instruction called D.K. Body Balancing Method. Dolly has traveled throughout the United States. Mexico. Japan and Korea certifying others in the D.K. Body Balancing Method. Her instructors are successfully working in her own studios and also studios located in Australia, Canada, Mexico. Japan. Russia, Israel, and Spain and throughout the entire United States. Her education also includes Physical Therapy. Massage Therapy, and Alexander & Feldenkrais techniques. Dolly was certified in the GYROTONIC Method in 2000 and uses that as well as the Art Forms System in her studios in Las Vegas.

Dolly has established Pilates studios for many health facilities, including hospitals, physical therapy clinics and chiropractic offices. She has also developed programs for Houston Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theater, Wynn Resorts and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Pilates Certification: Our Instructor Certification is approved by the Nevada and Arizona State Boards of Physical Therapists for 1.5 units of continuing education and is offered in Las Vegas several times per year, as well in various International locations. The program is recognized through the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of the International fitness industry. Private certification courses

Private certification courses can be held at your own facility for your staff members. All training is completed through a series of weekend courses or weeklong intensive. Our instructors travel to your fitness center and train your staff in mat work, or we can train your staff in Studio work using your equipment.

MAT I: an introduction to the basic theory and technique of Pilates exercise and introduces the Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques. The history of Pilates' theory and technique are studied through mat work. Learn the fundamental mat work based on Joseph Pilates original series plus an evolution of Pilates mat work utilizing various props, such as the FitBall. Theraband. and magic circle. This course can be taken on it's own as our Pilates Mat Work certification or as and addition to the Studio Course which incorporates both mat and equipment based Pilates exercises.

BODY BALANCING I: an introduction to the basic theory and technique of Pilates exercise and introduces the Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques. The history of Pilates' theory and technique are studied including mat work and primary series on the Reformer. Trapeze Table and Chair.

BODY BALANCING II: an intermediate level of theory and technique as it applies to advanced mat work Additional emphasis is placed on the use of the Pilates equipment for special populations.

BODY BALANCING III: an advanced level of theory and technique that is applicable to all mind-body movement forms. This section is targeted specifically to exercises on the Pilates equipment

ANATOMY & KINESIOLOGY: studies the muscular and skeletal structure of the human body as they relate to and are involved with movement Emphasis is placed on the thorough understanding of major muscle groups and joint actions and their capacity of movement Special attention is given to the causes and prevention of injuries.

PREVENTION & CARE OF INJURY: introduces the basic concepts of sport injury prevention, immediate care of injuries, the accelerated rehabilitation of injuries and how to safely return the individual to the rigors of activity.

FLEX & TONE: presents the Pilates method with the pedestrian client in mind. Emphasis is placed on developing an exercise program that can be applied to the general public. Focus is placed on improving client posture and flexibility, instruction 

STUDIO APPLICATIONS: with emphasis placed on program design, modifications & variations of the Pilates movements depending on fitness level, and establishing and attaining realistic client goals. Learn equipment setup & afety and how to design and conduct a Pilates Private Session and Circuit Class, utilizing Studio Equipment

"ALLEGRO" REFORMER GROUP CERTIFICATION: this course is strictly for reformer group class work. Using the reformer in a group environment is fun. dynamic, and a comprehensive group workout Allegro group reformer work has been successful in gyms & in studio environments. The Allegro class has sparked a new passion for Pilates by making it more accessible to the general public.

Practical, written and oral exams in each of theses courses are required with a passing grade for instructor certification. Internships with Pilates' studios between sessions are also required.
